Biography
Vincent Salgueiro is a music producer and composer of instrumental hybrid electronic music based in London, UK.
The majority of his work is soundtrack projects for short film, animation and games but made a debut release with EP ‘Cartesia’ is continuing original releases with a second ep ‘how much has slipped away’.
With eclectic influence from ambient electronic, post-rock, neo-classical, IDM and sound art, Vincent’s music is usually relatively experimental and textural with a focus on atmosphere, story and the physicality of sound. A common theme is contrast between bespoke organic and artificial sources of sound.

vincent salgueiro releases single ‘scry’ 18th November 2022
‘SCRY’ is Vincent Salgueiro’s first release since debuting with EP Cartesia in December 2021. The release of this single on the 18th of November 2022 brings announcement of a second EP titled ‘how much has slipped away’ which will release the following month on the 16th December.
SCRY is a dark, textural, organic instrumental electronic track with a soundtrack feel produced primarily using manipulated piano recordings. Abstracting recordings from context in this way is a key device Vincent uses to create symbolism and narrative.

As in his previous work, SCRY plays with the relationship between the structured rhythmic repetition often associated with electronic music and the loose, floating ambience explored in his video game soundtrack work this year like ‘Factory Escape‘, ‘The Mage’, ‘Fungi Town’ and ‘Lousã’.
‘how much has slipped away’ (the EP which SCRY is a part of) is the culmination of a year’s experimentation with sound. The results have been a refinement of Vincent’s sound - leaning deeper into the loose ambient passages which bring texture to the foreground but now having slightly more direction - whether that be towards an increase intensity or a decrease.
